Simple Homemade Chicken Brine

Ingredients

  • 1 Gallon Water
  • 2/3 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 3/4 Cup Salt Kosher
  • 2/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Heat water until slightly warm. This will help dissolve the sugar and salt.
  • Pour warm water into a container that you will brine the chicken in. Add all other ingredients to water and stir, allowing salt and sugar to dissolve.
  • Allow to come to room temperature.
  • Place chicken in brine and refrigerate overnight for whole chicken, 2 hours for chicken breasts, and 4 hours for any pieces with bones.
  • Drain before cooking and dry with a paper towel. Enjoy!
