Simple Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 TBSP Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 TBSP Honey Or Granulated Sugar
  • 2 TBSP Butter Melted
  • 3 1/2 to 4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • 1 Egg For Egg Wash

Instructions

  • Heat milk and water, in microwave or stove top, to 110 degrees F. Be careful not to get it too hot, or it will kill the yeast.
  • Add the honey and active dry yeast to the milk and water. Mix and allow to sit for 10 minutes, or until foamy on top. (If the mixture doesn't foam, this may mean your yeast is not good.) Add butter to milk mixture.
  • In a stand mixer, with dough hook attachment, mix together 3 1/2 cups flour and liquid mixture, adding salt in the middle of incorporating the dry and wet ingredients.
  • Knead in mixer for 4-5 minutes. If mixture seems too wet, add the remaining flour, 1 TBSP at a time, until it is smooth and pulls away from sides of bowl as it is mixing.
  • Allow to rise in a greased, covered bowl, for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Punch down the air out of dough and transfer to a lightly floured surface.
  • Cut dough into 12 equal size pieces. Roll into balls. I like to do this by cupping my hand and rolling dough in a circular motion underneath my hand and on top of the counter.
  • Place in a greased 9x13 pan. Cover with a clean towel and place in warm place to double in size, about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Brush egg wash on top of rolls. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy!
